Kiyomizuan
Kiyomizu-an house offers a genuine timeless experience in a Kyoto typical house. It was our motto for the renovation made in collaboration with a renowned Kyoto architect. There is also one parking space for those traveling by car.
Description of the house
On the ground floor, there is a kitchen, two large Japanese tatami rooms, bathroom and restroom. Upstairs, there are two more large Japanese tatami rooms for sleeping (futons) and a shower room and another restroom as well. There are rooms on the upper floor and a big space on the ground floor that can be separated in 2, for quieter times. The house can easily accommodate six people, but please feel free to inquire about larger groups of more than six.
A room for tea ceremony and a wine cellar add to the already great atmosphere! The house is also equipped with 4 electric bicycles which can be freely used, ideal to visit sites all over Kyoto!
The neighborhood
Located in the peaceful district of Higashiyama, the house is nestled in the area beneath Kiyomizu-dera, the famous temple with Unesco world heritage status. Not only is the house close to the famous Gion district, but there are supermarkets and great restaurants around to truly enjoy your stay in Kyoto.

Dominated by the famous Kiyomizu-dera temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this district offers spectacular panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. Strolling along its cobbled streets lined with traditional houses, visitors discover a multitude of artisanal stores, teahouses and small shrines, each imbued with authentic Japanese charm. Each season brings a new facet to the district, from cherry blossoms in spring to flamboyant maple trees in autumn, making Kiyomizu a must-see destination.
