A 150 year-old house near Kyoto city
The house is located in the picturesque village of Kameoka, 25 minutes from Kyoto, and 10 minutes away from Arashiyama Bamboo Forest by train. It offers a wide traditional japanese living room decorated by the old "irori", a sunken hearth used long ago to heat up homes in Japan. The kitchen is fully equiped, and you can use the cutterly and equipment at your convenience. There are one shower room, and one traditionnal japanese bath "ofuro".
The Western-style room can accommodate up to three people, with a double-bed and one futon in the japanese-style room next to it. The other Japanese room welcomes up to four people in confortable futon. The wide and luminous living room is open on the Japanese garden.
A stress-free stay in the countryside
The owners Tsuzumi and Christian are here to accompany you. Both are fluent in English, Italian, and Japanese, and will be happy to tell you more about the area.
Tsuzumi and Christian will offer shuttle service to and from the train station, and can arrange transfers to all the major airports and ports in Kansai.
The Kameoka Valley
Kyoto Kameoka House resides at the foot of the eastern mountain range in the ancient village of Bishamon (Guardian God of Buddhism) in Kameoka, 20 minutes by train from central Kyoto.
The house is just a short stroll from the start of the beautiful Seven Lucky Temples path, and only a 10-minutes walk from the Cherry Park, famous for its beautiful landscape of more than a thousand cherry trees. You can experience local culture such as pottery, swordsmith, bamboo experience in an artisanal shop, blowing glass experience, yoga private lessons, kimono dressing, sushi and soba workshop, or calligraphy lessons.
The place is surrounded by many local restaurants for you to enjoy delicious food outside of the touristy places.
